Protect Proteus Project
Help the Planet Stay Forever Young
There is life on Earth and there is life beneath its surface. Life on the surface is dominated by humans and life in the underground world by olms – the largest and most mysterious cave-dwelling animals, which have been intriguing scientists for centuries. Unfortunately, people and their actions unconsciously, yet persistently, destroy and endanger the mysterious underground world – the home of olms and the main source of our drinking water.
With the hatching of baby olms, nature gave us a great honour – and an even greater responsibility – to ensure a safe and healthy habitat for the olms.
WE ARE DEVELOPING
laboratories and working with scientists.
WE ARE RAISING AWARENESS
about importance of groundwater and drinking water.
WE ARE DOING OUR BEST
to keep the planet forever young.
Providing the Olms with a Safe Home
Ever since the hatching of our first olm brood, our main role is taking care of the baby olms. The Protect Proteus Project helps us obtain funds for providing the olms with an optimal living environment.
We started keeping track of and studying the development of olms back in 2016, when we were able to witness their hatching for the first time ever.

Working with Scientists
The olms are exciting people’s imagination and intriguing the most prominent scientists. By investing in the development of laboratories, we are working together on researching the characteristics of olms and cave life. We make sure to share our findings and raise awareness among the younger generations
Due to their superpowers, olms are the pioneers of survival.

Working towards a Cleaner Underground World
We work towards the long-term preservation of the subterranean world, which is exposed to many dangers and threats due to intensive agriculture, industrialisation and illegal dumping, which have a direct effect on the existence of animal species and pollute the main source of drinking water.
Groundwater represents 1% of the water on the planet and is the main source of drinking water for as many as 2 billion people.

Keeping the Planet Forever Young
Each individual is responsible for keeping the planet clean and thus ensuring a brighter future for all coming generations. With this aim, we want to raise stronger awareness about the importance of a more sustainable way of life and ecology.
